How would you define affiliate marketing and what are the good and bad aspects of it? My boss wants me to present a report on this topic and I am stumped. Any ideas would be welcome

thanks,

Affiliate marketing can be highly benifical as long as set some high standards. Don't just affiliate yourself with everyone and anyone to get your name out there. This can have negative repercussions. Only affiliate yourself to target people and good can come out of it.

Thanks, that is good info. What would you consider good affilate marketing campaigns, Ebay? Amazon? or much lower scale?

A good affiliate campaign would be one that makes more sales and revenue for the advertiser/merchant, and allows a reasonable and fair commission to the affiliate.

I think tighter niches work better for affiliate promotion.

Amazon has a strong affiliate model because they were one of the first. They are not affiliate-friendly, if they were to start out today with the same program, I feel it would likely tank.

I have heard of some people having decent success with ebay, but haven't used the program myself.
