Looking for qualified IT traffic

What other sources provide decent technology traffic

I run a small information technology research portal and I'm considering ways to boost my traffic. I'm currently running sizeable campaigns on Google, Overture, and Enhance using selective keyword bidding so that the traffic that does come to my site is (hopefully) a qualified audience of IT professionals (from all levels).

Im wondering if anyone out there has experience with attracting this type of audience. Im more interested in quantity than converting customers for a sale.

Anyone have experience using Advertising.com, or Business.com to drive traffic. Also, if you know the typical CPC levels I should expect to get somewhat of a decent placement. Not interested in receiving thousands of visitors who stay on the site for less than a second.

The problem I have with many of the second or third tier engines is that they dont have a network of IT related sites that I'm looking for. This is strictly B2B here, no consumer sites like AnandTech, ArsTechnica, etc.

All comments are appreciated.

I've heard that a good idea is offering free white papers from your field on tech portal sites (C¦Net, /., etcetera). While they may charge you per download, you can usually get highly qualified leads this way.

No experience with it, just what I've heard.
