Norton Adware And Affiliate Links

As many of you know Norton Internet Security and similar products ship with ad blocking software.

Which means any affiliate banners AND links don't show up if ad blocking is turned on. Norton basically strips the code from the page - often removing images and the like too.

The worst thing of all is that ad blocking is ON as default. Most people won't even be aware that they are viewing "ad free" pages.

Does anyone know a solution to this, specifically for Tradedoubler links?

I have been writing articles about this since the beginning, including one that's featured at About.com. There are some solutions listed in my main article. Search anything to do with Norton Blocking Affiliate Links and you will find it.

Important to note - Norton has seen the light due to all the negative PR and they have changed their ways. Starting a couple months ago Norton is shipping with ad blocking OFF by default which is a HUGE improvement. However I'm sure there are tons of people that still have the old versions.

Thanks Linda,

Yes that is the problem - millions have Norton already and when you renew your subscription ad blocking remains on by default (most Norton users are totally unaware of the ad blocking incidentally).

I will search out your articles.

Best wishes
