I'm very proud of this because it's almost exactly 2 months since I posted my first thread. At this rate I will hit my goal a bit ahead of schedule and not have to worry about working for someone else ever again!
Woo HOOOOOOOO!
Self employed usually have to pay self employment tax, you have to pay much more for health insurance ect...
I Do not work for anyone anymore, but I would have like a years worth of money in the bank and no bad debt before I quit.
But you could be 16 or living in a country where the cost of living is so low the king does not make $100 a day,
I guess it really depends on what your current level of income is. Many people would chop off their hands if they were given the opportunity to make $36k/year while working a couple hours a day.

Does this mean you have returned from your travels and are back up to your daily expected commissions?
Or
Have you found somewhere in Europe where you can live for less than a billion quid a week?
Sorry, jealousy will get you nowhere Ska!
I nearly quit my job last week. I had a consistent £300+ commisions per day for 10 days. Yippee!
Then 5 days of less than £25. Hmmm It is still not stable enough for me to quit my day job.
Maybe you guys are more daring than me.

The key to getting a more consistent stream of income is diversification.
Granted ;oP
I only know one thing and have been plugging at it for 3 years.
I have been racking my brains for at least a year trying to figure out what to punt next.
Give us a clue ;)
Finance rocks but it's a bit wobbly on the consistency side.

I do not plan on stopping at $100. It just cements the fact that I can do this and $200-$300-$400 per day is just around the bend.
I currently spend 1.5 - 2 hours per day on this and if I can increase that to 8 hours per day, I can implement all the projects on the shelf right now and increase the volumes on my successful programs. That alone will give me more then enough income. PLUS, it's not like I am voluntarily quitting my job, I'm getting downsized due to a buyout.
Anyhow, let's get back to the derail about Rfung's trips...LOL

See, there is your problem. You are thinking too much about it. ;) Just build something and you would be surprised. I am finding that building sites around the strangest things is paying off.
As far as your $100 a day. I have a feeling that it is just around the corner for you. I mean Xmas is just around the corner. The trick will be keeping it above $100 a day after Xmas is over. But, good luck. you've made it this far so I am sure you will do it.

Yeah, the weirdest things sometimes make money. You never know until you try lots of different stuff. I find it helpful to make some broader sites to start out and then see what topics get the most interest and then try to beef up the ads and affiliate sales around those.
Give us a clue ;)
Read up on forum #25. If you target your traffic with domain parking, you can easily get 30-40% clickthrough rates vs. the meager average of 5% for affiliate marketing. Yes, I know that some people get low double digit clickthrough percentages with affiliate marketing, but that is the exception, not the norm.
how do you make money from targeting your traffic with domain parking?
Buy quality domains with the right keywords. If you have a domain called widgets.tld and someone types widgets.tld into their browser, they will more than likely click on the text ads at your site. With the correct domain name, you are appealing to exactly what the surfer wants. You get high clickthroughs with targeted ads, no maintenance headache and big bucks ... IF you do it the right way. Read up on domain parking in forum 25 [webmasterworld.com].
Do you mean getting traffic to your site from parked domains?
Do you reckon this traffic is better than other types?
I built 10 small sites (3-pages) in May, all targeting different mini markets for AdSense and books. As of this month, I'm in the $33/day range. Each day, 3 or 4 of them are star performers with CTR's of better than 30%. But its never the same 3 or 4. Today's performer might be a total 0 tomorrow. So it keeps going 'round, and I am glad to have all 10.
Oh, c'mon, you must have found some new interest over the last 3 years! ;)
Heh Heh Sure I have tried a number of different things but nothing pays as well as my niche. I want to keep pushing what I am but I need to increase traffic 10x.
As far as diversification goes, this is where I fall down. Everything seems to be getting beaten to death so it's hard to think of something to write about that hasn't been hammered.
I have been an affiliate for about 5 years with varying degrees of success so I do have half an idea of what its all about. My brain just can't think of anything new or interesting at the moment ;oP

I wasn't planning on posting until I hit at least $300+/day again, but in the meantime I've put up a couple sites up and I'm currently at around $180/day. Also, my parents are looking at houses to buy in the US with whom I'll be investing with as well, as part of that whole diversification thing everyone talks about.
Salut!
I have been expanding my websites - my latest project is a fun site that hopefully will be forwarded by people and become one of those 'I have 10 billion page views but 0 income'. It's a single source site, but I can create different language files and domains, so in effect I have as many sites as I have languages, all from the same code, for ease of maintaining. These sites will target their specific countries, and will primarily serve as page rank 'accumulators' (if successful), so then I can have my own network that I can use to channel pagerank to my affiliate sites. It's more of a long term project, with no immediate financial benefit, but I'm realizing competition is getting fierce and you can't go by without some serious infrastructure.
I'm sure I'll be able to expense some of my travel costs because of this :)
Well, I've disclosed a bit more than I wanted, but I didn't want my messages to be all about travelling. I suppose as far as motivation, it may be somewhat on topic but I shall go back under the radar regarding my projects, until the time has come for the big comeback ;)
