Compared with all my other afiliate schemes Amazon seems like a bit of a loser. I run it on several sites with around about 1,000 UVs per day and make practically nothing at all out of it.
The possibilities I'm considering are: a) No one buys books anywhere except directly from Amazon b) I don't know how to market books c) There is something wrong with the Amazon reporting/comission system

ok, i've never manipulated the amazon tags before, but now i'm thinking about it.
can i ask a newbie question?
what exactly does "ref=nosim" do?

Put into a normal textlink, ref=nosim brings the visior directly to the product page and not to the page where it says something like "You have clicked on this product, but might be interested in these other products as well ..."

I make about 100 a month on amazon though it is just a fraction of my online activity. Though they only pay 5%+ they convert better than some of my lesser know affiliates that pay 10-15% because they are a houshold name and well branded. On my targeted amazon sites I get about 10-12 percent convertion. On untargeted links for amazon across several sites bout 1-2.5%

I'm making $500+ / month from Amazon, maybe $1000/month. But my main site has nothing except book reviews on it.
