One of my websites (an small city travel site) receives 10.000 hits everyday, yet I´m not seeing much money from this site at the end of the month. What are the best ideas to get niche travel sites generating good income?

Firstly this has been said before, ignore "hits" and tell us how many visits, uniques and page views you get. Hits are a useless number in terms of marketing.
You could try an affiliate hotel booking site, there are plenty of them around.
If your page views are high then maybe try one of the CPM networks such as Tribal Fusion.

Tribal fusion can be a good alternate choice, many TF advertisers pay very high CPM even compare to Adsense.
