Last time I read the discussion there didn't seem to be a consensus.

What are your opinions on a price comparison datafeed site having adsense on it too.

I am torn personally. I think in some cases its appropriate and others its not.

What, specifically, are your reservations?

In this case I would be afraid of adsense stealing more profitable affiliate commissions. Some of this has to due with the site layout.

Thinking out loud I suppose I could put adsense at the bottom of the pages. If the user gets to reading down there he/she most likely didn't find what they wanted.

Yep, some clicks earn more through affiliate links than adsense, a lot more.

Bottom of the page run doesn't sound like a bad idea. Whatever you do, track it so you know the specific results.

What about, instead of an Adsense link - you used that part of your page to survey your customers (the site visitor) to see what it is they were looking for and perhaps why they didn't find it.

The reason I put this forward, is that the customer that comes to your site is your customer while he/she is there... you have the opportunity to give them what they are looking for and possibly create a relationship so that the next time that customer is looking for a piece of information they will return to your site.

If you let them leave via an Adsense link (which you have stated likely means that they didn't find what they were looking for) - then you are letting them leave without even knowing why. Now, obviously not everyone would take the time to fill out your survey, but you would get enough info possibly to make improvements on your site that could positively affect long-term profitability of that site.

Overall point being - sometimes the short-term monitization of that visitor is not as valuable as the long-term information and customer loyalty piece that could be gained.
