I´m triying to decide

wheter to advertise an aff product (a book) with a banner on a very on topic site. They will charge me $1000 for 5.000.000 impresions. The book I plan to advertise costs arround $30, with 5% commison.

The second option is to have a small lateral banner placed on a page were 1 month of advertising costs $1000 and receives arround 30.000.000 hits a month. This is an ontopic news website. In this case the money would be generated from Adsense on my site. I´m getting arround $0.40 per click.

I know it´s very litle information, but where do you fell the money should go to?

Firstly I'm not sure you're allowed URLs here.

Secondly that software does nothing more than automatically create keyword stuffed pages which are effectively spam online. You can actually report these junk pages to google who will remove them from their listings as they're absolutely irrelevant.

Back to the original topic I would personally spend the money on the website that can offer you the most targeted traffic. A hundred readers that are interested in your topic are more likely to click the banner than a thousand readers that are not. Oh and ignore "hits", the only figure you should be interested in is visitors or uniques.

Hello buksida:

I did state

"not sure if posting a link here is ok but here goes"

If URLs are not allowed by all means PLLLLEASE remove it and accept my apologies.

As far as "online spam"...

I am not quite sure I know what you mean.. When the software is used correctly you create releveant content based articles ONLY to your pages.

If you mean "can you use this i a bad way"

Then your 100% correct and they are going to get their pages blacklisted.

but when used correctly the sofwtare is quite effective.

The object is not to try and trick the engines but gin fact give them EXACTLY what they want..

Content is king.. I am sure we can both agree on this no?

Why don't you do both and see which one generates the most leads and income. That's what I would do...

I honestly think you have to be very very careful with the PPC programs.

You have to keep a close eye on what your actually paying for.

Google and OVerture are very powerful and at times almost TOO powerful.

I would start with a small campaign. Make sure you have a good conversion tracking system in place to find out how your ratio is form each.
