do i have any hope of making $?

for my startup travel photo web site

hello,

i'm new to web advertisment :

for fun i published my recent two photo books on my home page, they contain almost 5000 photos about asia.

now it's well ranked in google and linked by many other travel and photo web sites.

i just use a lame Shinystat account so i dunno exactly how many visitors i have since the counter stops after 1000 page views.

in average i have :

- 9000 unique visitors/month
- 30.000 page views/month.

QUESTION :

i want to make a separate domain for my photos (they're actually just a sub-directory of my home page) with forum,newsletter, etc and add tons of other photos making it the world's biggest photo web site for lone traveling and backpacking.

obviously these factors will quite increase the number of users and page views.

now, do you think i have the bare minimum chance to make some money off to it (with adsense, overture, etc?) or i need really millions of visitors?

what would be the best affiliation program for something like that?

the target user is from worldwide, the site is only in english, only related to travel photography and travel writing.

do you think Adsense would be a good choice?
or i don't have the numbers to make $ with it?
