Promoting Affiliate Program for Marketing Company

Suggestions on how to do this?

I'm currently promoting an affiliate program.

Haven't heavily promoted it yet; just basically submitted to all the affiliate directories I could find for free.

I've had 2 sign-ups as a result of the directory plugs.

I know that the only real way to recruit the better affiliates is simply to contact them directly.

Any other suggestions for marketing a specialty program?
