Hello. I run a humor/entertainment website ( <snip> ) that recieves about 20,000 unique visitors/month and about 200,000 page loads/month. I started the website about 4 months ago, and the visitors just keep increasing daily.

I have applied to the Fastclick Network numerous times, but each time I get rejected. I have also tried Casale, but was rejected by them, also. I have a quality website that follows all their guidlines. I just can't seem to figure out why I keep getting rejected.

Maybe it is because my site is too new?

I have been approved by Mamma Media though. But they do not provide good rates at all, and they just resell ads from Fastclick at horrible rates.

If anyone knows what Fastclick looks for when they review a site, I would appreciate knowing. Also, if anyone could suggest a few ad networks that might work well for my site, I would be very thankful!

I am new to Webmaster World, and look forward to contributing my knowledge and help in the future.

Thanks for any help!

Also, I forgot to mention, when Fastclick rejects my site, they say "we are just not accepting sites of this nature at this time". I highly doubt this reason, and I think that they MUST be something that is in my control that I can do to help get approved.

I am sorry about the link to my site, I just thought it would help everyone understand the content of my site better. Sorry!

Their answers may very well be legitimate. I'm running a very unsucessful pop-under/leave-behind campaign with Fastclick right now. It seems like most of their traffic comes from entertainment/humor/music websites. ebaumsworld.com is one of their largest publishers.

The reality of the situation is that although these sites are quality and drive lots of traffic, they just don't convert on many of the offers advertisers have. Someone viewing a joke site is more than likely not going to fill out my financial offer landing page... but I'm sure it still can convert on the free smileys, iPods, and so forth.

I hope this sheds some light on your concerns!

Thanks for your thoughtful response. However, I still do not understand...if they accepted ebaumsworld.com (a humor site), than that means they accept humor sites, and that they have campaigns suited to these types of sites. Then why shouldn't they want my site?

I didn't mention this earlier, I don't know if it's an important factor in being approved, but my site has and Alexa rank of about 40,000.

But I do agree with what you said about the financial offers, they are less likely to convert on a humor site. However, there are still numerous campaigns that Fastclick offers, that would be suitable for a site like mine.

I fail to understand their reasoning for not wanting a site of my category. In fact, I will reply to their email and ask them for their reason(s). I will keep you all posted on the result of my email...

Thanks for your help ABliss. If anyone else can help, I would appreciate it. Thanks in advance!

There may be a supply and demand factor that is going into their decision to not accept you.

Fast click can't accept an unlimited number of humor websites if they only have X ads that are suitable to be run on the sites.

I maybe be way off base on that assumption as i don't use fastclick, if so, sorry.

Supply and demand makes sense. But still, how can a site like jokesandhumor DOT com (with an Alexa rank of over 100,000), get approved, while my site (which is well under 50,000) get rejected?

Thanks for your help WSQuant, but can anyone else help? Thanks again.

Do you mind me asking what type of site you have?

Thanks.

I have been rejected by Fastclick as well, and my site receives around 120,000 uniques a month.

Go figure.

I don't understand why Fastclick would reject so many good websites.

I wonder if my website will ever get approved...

I don't understand why Fastclick would reject so many good websites.

Your definition of a good web site may not be the same as theirs!

Fastclick are an old, well established agency with a very good reputation. I cant speak for Fastclick, but I should say advertisers pay a lot of money for their services, it would do a lot of harm if they accepted poor quality sites or sites that their advertisers don't want to advertise on.

Also, if they have a quota for sites of any type, they can hardly abandon an existing publisher to take on a new one can they! Publishers would soon hear about it and would desert the agency like crazy.

I don't think it's as much about 'quality' as it is about targeting the customer base that the advertisers are interested in.

Someone probably said this already, but ya...
