With the LinkShare awards quickly approaching, I am curious about what are some of the things that you would change about LinkShare if you had the power to do so?

Everything is open game: design, backend, GUI, payout.. you name it.

Should be interesting. If your list is longer than 10 - feel free to post.

I would change them so that they pay sooner and actually answer their support emails. I've tried contacting them 3 times over the last month with no response, and I'm still waiting for March payment while June is more than half history. As a result, I'm in the process of finding replacement affiliate programs so that I don't use them anymore.

Their payment system is a complete mess...I'm going to put an agry call in today...

They sent me a check for $345 when they owe me $2,000 for the month in question...Their interface is very unclear as to what I'm get paid for when...

Hmmm... almost a whole day and nobody posts a thing.

Must mean that the majority of readers are happy with LinkShare then correct. I would have thought that there would be more of a crowd with recommending at least a few changes.

Payment delays seems to be No. 1 , but isn't there anything else you would change about the network?

  • Fix the payment system.
  • Let me know how much is coming BEFORE the check arrives
  • Let me get a breakdown by month not by quarter
  • Fix the analytics to work in firefox
  • Have customer service answer emails and get back to me within a reasonable time frame, 24 hours not 3 weeks
  • Have support people available on weekends
  • Switch the reporting time to PST so it's easier to measure PPC day to day
  • Real time sales updates
  • Make estimated earnings (for tiered programs) a checkbox for ALL reports not an isolated one
  • Make all reports with the ability to list all subsites or isolated ones
  • Give some estimated earnings data (like CJ) for merchants
  • Fix the payment system (needs to be mentioned twice)

Their payment system IS a mess...What really stinks is that they are way behind on payments, and when you get a check, you can't tell what payment period the check applies to.

When I talked to customer service, they said the latest checks are a combo of March and April payments...

I asked how I could verify that...She said there is no way to tell now and they are going to upgrade the system.

Whoever planned this transition has done a HORRIBLE job and should be fired. The fact that it is near the end of June and I'm still waiting to get paid for March is rediculous...

    What an easy question.

Things LS should change to be a decent program.

    1 - Steven Messer

    2 - compliance dept.

3 - get a new name, LS has been ruined.

    4 - payable dept.

    5 - support dept.

One thing that should never (will never) change is, they will never have my name on the customer list.

    Let me ask you this...

What if a third-party complience and accounting firm was utilized to handle all payables? LinkShare would be the gateway of course - but the fisical aspects would be removed from being handled inhouse.

Now, some would argue that it just adds another process which could go wrong. But before you do - the third party source is big enough not to be influenced to any degree by LinkShare. They would also be physically on the premises with offices for their operations. Please note the important distinctions between inhouse and internally.

What if that were to happen? You would receive your payments in a timely manner with full account access and reports available via the provider?

The price. We looked at using them some months ago and found that they are far to expensive and just simply out of the reach of 'average' traders.

I'd like to change me not being nervous because they shut their site down for the weekend for an upgrade.

I have no faith that Linkshare reporting is actually reflecting what is actually converting. While I don't believe Linkshare is intentionally holding back transactions, I do think the problem is one of technology issues with transactions simply being lost. Yeah, it happens at CJ too but not to the same extent. Can't say much for CJ lately either though.

I'll agree. I recommend a couple products from my site, both very popular, advertised on TV etc. One is an independant program and one is through LS. On the indy I convert about 6% on LS it is about 0.8%. I would have thought the LS one would do even better as it is the more heavily promoted, well known one.
