I have a few sites where banner ads were being served by eAds, got this e-mail a few days ago:

eAds Hostsites:

Effective Monday, October 9, 2000, eAds will no longer sell advertising or
serve banners for your site. Checks will be sent on October 20, 2000 and
will include September, October and any other accrued clicks in the account
in accordance with the rules. Anyone violating the rules will not be paid.

eAds' decision in no way reflects on your website or its traffic. This was
an internal decision based on eAds' future direction. This decision is
final
and will not be reconsidered.

Thank you for 5 years of fun and success. We wish you all the best in your
future endeavors.

They don't say what their future direction is. I could guess but I won't.

Not having followed eAds, are you suggesting that a certain Bugle song we hear in DotCom Morgue a lot is in the offing or do you think they may have actually come up with a new business model?

Have you ever noticed how they all say the same stuff when they drop a bomb on you without notice.

Evidently, there are a few banner servers dropping accounts now.
