I'm most interested in hearing from those who earn a lot of money and work very little.
I'm waiting with baited breath.
1. I find that HIGHLY selective keywords on PPC works good. You get less traffic, but very targeted and receptive to your offers.
2. Lots of links from good directories and websites related to yours... people still use links when looking for stuff, it's not JUST search engine results.
3. Obviously Search Engine traffic is great... also targeted traffic is better, you get less quantity but better quality. (this is hard)
Anyone else?
I think that kind of thinking is why there's such a high failure rate. Sometimes people may read somebody making a lot of money now with very little work, but it might have taken a lot of work to get to that point. Or might have read a thread of someone just starting off making some good money. Hard work pays off.
I have been a webmaster since 1997. From '97 to '01, I just made websites for fun while I was in school and didn't have bills. I worked HARD, but I enjoyed it. Then, I started making some sites and putting up some ads for some extra income. Once again, I worked hard and enjoyed it, but I wasn't making much money. Then, I started doing things the right way last year and I'm making so much more. I spent my time developing a system to make me money. I currently live off web stuff and put in no more than three or so hours a day. However, there is so much more I can do to make this even more efficient and start making some really good money. I'm only matching what I would get at a "real" job. I want to demolish that. There's no reason that I can't be making 5x what I'm making in a year and putting in about 1 hour per day.
So, what I'm asking here is to plug some holes in my system. My system for developing sites and making money is solid and highly efficient, but my promotion is where I need to improve. Hence, the question: how can I easily and effectively get buyers to my site?
Diversify your store from other similar stores with some branding. That is try to convey an image to your online audience. A lot of affiliate sites try to profile themselves as communities with an online community spirit.
Another thing that I'm always yapping on and on about is offline marketing. It's a really neat way of getting customers.
Also keeping your buyers happy will create about five more buyers as they tell their friends how incredibly good your store or affiliate website was.
I'm not sure about counting hours as a measurement of how much work you put in. I've known people who work 8 hours a day but effeciently working about 2 hours. There are also people who are totally opposite and get it all done in about three to four hours and then call it a day.
Anyway, hope this helps.
