Everybody hates telemarketers, but that's how it's done...

I decided to make this a separate tread; In my previous tread [webmasterworld.com] I'm hoping to hear from gurus as well as people recently joined AM business

1. What the salary of part-time AM manager is and
2. How much time does an average AM manager spend to support and manage AM program for a given website?

I understand, of course, that high-traffic travel industry site and, for example, mountain bikes store are two different stories, but there must be some average numbers out there :)

I have this opportunity to get a call centre somewhere outside US, where it's relatively inexpensive yet effective enough to employ 200-300 people with good English. They will be calling 100-200 companies per day each, convincing them to sign up with one of the AM networks. Then we'll be managing each of them on a part-time basis (I manager per 5, may be 10 companies)?

Of course first 6 months or may be even a year we will not be even covering our costs, but in the long run (year, 2 years) I see it as a very profitable business. Is this idea insane or it can be done?

What's the trend, how Big does your website/business have to be for AM to make sense, to be cost effective?

Hey,

AM can make a big difference for almost any business. In fact, there are many businesses that make profit simply on the strength of their affiliates.

All the Best,

True, but not any 'small business' can afford start-up costs and hiring an AM manager.

That is why I was wondering how much work & money does it take to start.
