I am new to this particular forum. I was wondering if I could pick your brains on how to earn money from a book site.
I run a professional service and initially I came up with the book idea as a marketing tool to establish name recognition and generate leads for our service.
Then I thought of putting the book online and possibly generate revenue from the web site through banner sales and Adsense.
What are other ways related to revenue generating from advertising sales' point of view?
Thank you so much in advance.

I guess I should have phrased my question better. The book is a self-published one and I don't really want to make money from selling the book. But using it to generate advertising revenue seems more appealing.
But I guess it is no different from running a content site and trying to earn money through Adsense?

An example, a published paper on Metallurgy for Jet Engines returns ads for nothing but toy pump-up water rockets and squirt guns.
Yea, doesn't convert very well.
I specified to my co-writer that the HTML pages are supposed to be short so no scrolling is necessary and also each page is to be between 15 to 30k so they load quickly.
I know through PPC research that the keywords in my service sector are hot and pay well. I am debating whether I would be better off earning advertising revenue through Adsense (perhaps running some competitive ads might be lucrative), or should I just keep competitor ads off my book site so that my leads don't get distracted away?
What do you guys think?
Also would it be bad to sell text link ads(by having a sponsors section) if my site has decent PR? If I were to do so, is there an intermediary service that helps you attract buyers?
Thanks guys in advance.
