Google & IntelliTXT

Are they permitted to run together or not?

I have seen many, many sites with Vibrant Media's IntelliTXT and Adsense running at the same time.
I decided to ask Google and here is the response:

<paraphrase>

AdSense publishers are not permitted to place AdSense on pages that also contain what could be considered competing ads. This includes all text-based ads which includes those offered by IntelliTXT. We therefore kindly request that you refrain from publishing Google ads on pages that also contain IntelliTXT ads.</paraphrase>

I personally don't think that IntelliTXT and Adsense look alike at all, but if Google says no, then no it is.

As usual, always double check with Google before you make a decision.

It seems to me that Google would really prefer we not run any other ads.

IntelliTXT is contextual, which is why it is against the terms. It is nothing to do whether it resembles AdSense or not.

Earlier Google says "No" to sharing ads with IntelliTXT and is no longer correct (sort of). Google’s response was No.

Before I had received a response to my first message, I had a friend submit the same question to Google, but this time included a very popular site that is using Adsense and IntelliTXT as an example. This response just arrived.

---------------------------
<paraphrase>Displaying Google ads on the same page as IntelliTXT ads does not violate AdSense program policies.
</paraphrase>

I am now totally confused. Can I and Can't I use IntelliTXT? Who should I ask now? Should I ask one more time and take the best of three?

Why don't you reply to them and C&P the answers from both emails into your reply so that they can see both answers themselves.

Sounds to me like they don't quite know the answer themselves.

pretty odd, and embarassing for them that they are giving out contradictory answers.

interesting case... google's TOS does definitely exclude IntelliTXT ads:
Vibrant Media’s patent-pending contextual advertising products, IntelliTXTsm and SmartADsm...
(source: IT's 'Products' section) is not compatible with G's TOS.

It's like asking a Magic 8-ball, just keep asking and see what Google says.

Q: Can I use IntelliTXT with AdSense?
A: Outlook not so good!

Q: Can I use IntelliTXT with AdSense?
A: Ask again later!

Q: Can I use IntelliTXT with AdSense?
A: Better not tell you now!

Q: Can I use IntelliTXT with AdSense?
A: You may rely on it!

Q: Can I use IntelliTXT with AdSense?
A: My sources say no!
