new site 10US per day after 6 weeks

Hi everyone,

I am very happy to be a part of these great forums,

I have only just started 6 weeks ago in this field,
And have chosen just adsense for my revenue,
I have recieved my first check, which was over 220US
So I am very excited,
I have a business partner, who I am sure you will all meet in the future,
As I figure, I have we both have a lot to learn from these pages,

We don't use addwords, and are getting 12000 impressions per day, and it's growing at about 1000 per week

To get our site going we only posted a few adds to a few newsgroups, and that was it,

The site is one of a kind, and has original content, and is run on a phpbb forum,

I was wondering, because after reading around here, we realize that we are not probably utilizing our efforts the best,

We have a average ctr of only 0.5% and cpm of 0.8

Are there any good tips that we could use to increase our rates?

We are thinking of putting a few specific affiliate
adds in to try and improve the ctr, and cpm,

As i am assuming that people are clciking on the adds, just not buying,
this i would say comes from google adds, not being relevant enough for our forum

All ideas are welcome,
And you might as well get used to me, As I feel that i will be around here for a while,

My absolute dream is 100/day

I have dreamt of this, and am happy to see it at ~4.74/day after about 6 weeks, well 4 really, we were free hosted before, so we bought our own reseller account,

Once I get this forum to around 20-30/ day, I will them begin the replication, and growth cycle,

To think that i am close to my life's dream is beyond words,

I can firmly forsee this coming true,
and that is the bit, that really makes it hard to sleep,

oh,

also do you think that from 9000 impressions per day ~4US is ok?
Some days, like today it goes up to 10, some days 5, but an average of around 4

This is from adsense banners on the top,
Would putting say 3 other cpm adds on the site,
ie, adding 3 sites that generate 50c/1000 impression to the 1 adsense add, be alogical step,

Can you find cpm/1000 advertisers, that will let multiple adds on the one page?

If there are good affilite programs that you can tie into your site, than by all means try them.

$4 off of 9000 impressions sucks. This is probably due to the adsense being on a forum though.

Oh yeah, watch out for the Google Police! There is always someone on here that figures it is their job to crab people out when adsense earnings are talked about.

Hi synth, and welcome to WW.

It's great to hear your enthusiasm about your site and the earning potential and I hope it does well for you. A word of caution however - take some time and read many of the posts in the AdSense forum, particularly as that is your main income source right now. As GuitarZan points out, there are a number of Google Police (LOL!) hanging out there, but you'll get some very good ideas about what is and what isn't allowed when it comes to having AdSense on your site.

One of the things that will most certainly get you kicked off the AS program is drawing undue attention to your ads. You might want to remove any mention of that from your forum pages to stay on the safe side ;)

I couldn't wait to get up, and check the responses,
And there were some, excellent,

I don't want to do anything that upsets google,
Although I realize that I probably could survive without them, if I had to.

I see what you are saying,

Find out what my visitor want to buy, and have affiliate adds to cater for them, I can see that working, well

For I guess at the moment, getting around XX clicks per day, those people are not finding anything usefull,
and of particular need,

From what i remember, you can't have affiliate adds, with google right?

But are there other google like publishers, that will?

I have tested clicksor on my site, and it is just as good as google,

I think i will find 20 or 30 good products, and test them on the site,

If it's not too much trouble, does anyone know, which add service will let you have affiliates?

If not, I would assume that I would make more from having lots of affiliates, rather than just the one google add,

synth78, you can use affiliates together with Adsense.
But the Adsense TOS does forbids you to use other contextual advertising services on your site together with Adsense.

This easter, my site is going off the wall,
Well last week I averaged about 6000 impression/day

this week it's like 9000, today is looking like shaping up to 15,ooo/day,

I still have 5 hours to go till close time, and it's at 12000 already,

I will get back to reading the forums now,
rfun, was saying in his super forum, that he only gets 7000 impressions, but gets a good 2-3000 per month from it,

I have a lot to learn
If there are any successfull marketers here, that don't mind me picking their brains,
just throw us a line,
And i can help them, if I can with graphic design issues,

means how many unique visitors per day?

6 weeks ago means you buy a new domain, put in online and have 9k impression after 6 weeks? with all original SERPs from search engine?

God, that is amazing. Are you doing super optimizing or what? how come you have 9k impression in so little time.

ok, i have just recieved some good advice, from a member here,
Who has told me that my adsense linking is prob a little poor, and I have no affiliates,

So what i am going to do is follow their instructions,
and report back here,

I will attempt to get into the minds of my visitors,
and calcualte a product that would best suit them,
So in a few weeks I will get back and fill you all in,

So as it stands I am doing an av. of 7US per day, after 6 weeks of forum growth,
I will try to triple that, and report back with over 20US per month,

First of all i started with a free hosting forum 6 weeks ago, then at the 2 week mark, I bought a reseller account, from the proceeds(it gets donations too)
and now i am getting 12,000 impression per day,
after only putting a few adds in a few newsgroups,

Since then I have opened up 5 more forums, and they are still in their infancy, but they feed of the main site,

I may be getting 12,000 imp per day,
But I am only making 7US/day, with one adsence add,.

I would be more than interested in swappping information,
to anyone that can help me,and to people that cannot,

I bought a 5gb + 50gb transfer for 24/month and a domain for 10/year,

So far 8GB bandwidth per month is being used,
and 2gb of space have been used,

My site is original content rich, with 10,000's of pages

It is my dream to get 100/day,
And if I can do that I will consider nmyself free from the world of money,

I hope that these changes that i am about to do work,
I cannot see why they wouldn't,

well jut an update

Things are going really well

Over the past weeks, my site has gone from approx 4US per day to 7-8US/day, almost getting double, what i had a few months ago,

WE had no luck with affilates, so we just positioned all the adds better, and have valid evidence that a scyscraper add get twice as many clicks, as a top banner,

Rather than geting days of 7 here, followed by days of 3, then 4, and maybee even 50c,
It has evened out at arounf 7/day
It is just amazing to see this slowly happen,
Impressions are tapering down to 7000 impressions,
we used to get 12000, but that was because there were two adds on a page, so that was why my ctr was so low,

So over al impression are improving and hanging around the 6,7k

This is really possible,
so thanks everyone here!

Did you write all those content or you used some kind of script to generate them? Just curios... as you've mentioned, your site has been up just 6 weeks if I am not mistaken.

hey synth78, motivating post!

instead of just putting up some affiliate links, perhaps you can try to write something (review/product comparison) on the products you are affiliating to do the pre-selling. ppl active in forums(so am i) LOVES reading and this is the way how i sell affiliates goods: give info and info and info - presell it - drive traffics to advertisers and let them do the selling.

by the way, to get 15,000 impressions within 6 weeks WITHOUT putting up any ads? this is really impressing - mind some sharings on how you generate this kind of traffics?
