Quick CJ Question

What is the value of selecting "Encrypt link" and why does CJ seem to implicitly discourage doing so by forcing you to select it each time rather than pre-selecting based on previous settings like it does with the other options? I've been selecting it every time, assuming there is some advantage to it.

I think the main purpose is to thwart adblocking software and spyware form hijacking your referral.

That's what I assumed, but then wouldn't it be defaulted? If it helps even slightly to protect your referrals, who wouldn't use it? That is, unless there is a downside to it that I am missing... hence my post here.
