Let me give an example, my student affiliate John has signed up with my affiliate program for my site (MySite.com)and he does not have a website himself to put up his affiliate link in, but he does have an affiliate id (1234). John refers his classmate Jean to buy my product by going to my site (MySite.com). So Jean has John's affiliate ID before going to my site and place an order. How do I track Jean is referred by John so I can pay him the affiliate commission? One way I could imagine is to have a reference code text field and allow Jean to enter the reference code (John's AffID) on my order page.
Hope this make sense to you. I have couple of educational products, and want to create an affiliate program for students to join. I am trying to figure the best way to do so since most of them do not have their own websites and the referrals come from the viral marketing offline.
