Apparently from reports and from first hand sight of yahoo's new contextual programme(don't bother stickying me) - which is "out in the wild", it is VERY similar to G's.

Why do we think that companies trying to enter this market don't show much imagination? Are they all waiting on the market leader and then following suit? Or is it simply the "cash cow"

It is already being discussed and people have seen the Yahoo banners

The business world has always been like this.
There is such a thing as first mover advantage but there are countless examples of companies who have entered a market much later than their rival and dominated it simply through variation, larger budgets or stronger vertical/horizontal relationship/integration

The traditional classified-ad format works, so the SEs probably figure "Why mess with it?" After all, it isn't as if IntelliTXT were running away with Google AdWords or Overture's market share. :-)

well when IntelliTXT relies on Overture for it's results it is going to be hard to beat them

I'm skeptical, if only because IntelliTXT ads are so intrusive. I think most legitimate editorial sites will reject them (as some have already done).

Exactly. And they look like scumware. The first time I ever ran across IntelliTXT I had Spybot S&D fired up before it dawned on me what they were.

IntelliTXT just doesn't cut it for me because they are plopped in the middle of when I'm reading the article, and in my experience they only seem to target individual single words which in my opinion is like targetting adwords to something like 'computer' or 'cellphone'.

I've used clicksor before on a few pages, which looks like it is the same as IntelliTXT. The epc was dismal (like less than a penny). Anybody have any luck with intelliTXT? Adsense is doing good so far but...
