Domains parked, looking to develop

I just recently parked a couple domains at Sedo.com and was surprised at the number of type-ins they receieved. They were leftover from when I bought them during the tech boom while I was in High School. The domains are highly targeted and generally have a 50%+ click rate. I was wondering if high click rates generally result in conversion when switching from PPC to Commission. Also, is it possible to have some domains forward straight to a merchants product page?

Sorry if the questions are dumb. I'm in college now and I've been out of the domain/advertising loop for a long while. I'm still amazed that I'm making $2 a day from just clicks, I thought that was dead!

Caliber:

I'm in a similar situation to you (similar age at least), being young and new to the online thing. I don't really have many type-in type domains, but my guess is that (depending on the type of sites) you should get fairly good performance on your sites with the money per day you're getting, though affiliate earnings are all-at-once, larger helping sorts of things instead of the incremental money you'd get from parking or AdSense. I'd say your best bet is to try to develop a page while getting into AdSense as soon as possible as an incremental backup to the affiliate sales.

I'd love to take a look at your domains, though. If you don't mind, send me a sticky with your parked sites. If I can peruse them, I can give you a better idea of what to expect as an affiliate, since my expertise lies more in affiliate marketing than in domain purchases.

You can try Google [google.com...]
or if you have a serious portfolio you could contact Fabulous.com

The reason I ask is that I have offers on most of the domains. If it was parking vs selling, I'd easily pick selling the domains. However, with what I've been reading from people making money off of commission, I want to see if that'd be a better option than selling.

domainhop.com is also a leader in parking

i have about 100 names there

i'm always surprised at how many type ins a name gets

I'm not making much at domainhop, but from what i hear, it's on par with sedo

domainsponsors.com is the other worthwhile place

depends on who you ask as to which is best

If you decide to sell, you might send me your list / prices.

I keep saying I'm gonna quit my domain addiction ... but I'm not a quiter.
