First I have been reading the forums for around a week and have found it a very good resource. I have been online for years and now I'm interested in starting some online venues, and hopefully in the future do something about my day job ( it drives me crazy).
I have decided to start working on some websites for profits, currently I know html and ccs and I will start working on learning to do dynamic sites. Im working right now on a small scale website to learn SEO and a large website of my hobbies.
I have started to research some ideas or topics for website to make profit from, but I'm having some trouble selecting venues, I guess it's part of just getting started.
Sorry for the long message, If anyone have some ideas, suggestions or comments for me(or other new people) I would be glad to hear them.
Thanks
When Brett started WebmasterWorld.com, I'm sure he didn't do it to make money. It was something he was interested in, and there weren't any good sites that provided a place for webmasters to share ideas. I'm sure it makes a good profit for him, but that was secondary.
I'm sure many of the best sites are similar. There are plenty of good ideas left out there.
You could be a writer and enjoy this for all I know, but it is something you should consider before spending a lot of effort in a saturated market. Again, my advice would be matching movingonups which is pick something you genuinly enjoy doing or enjoy writing about and don't expect profit the first year.
Good Luck,
Shane
