I now receive 3 cheques per month in US dollars. Strangely enough my bank (Nat West) see this as a great opportunity to fleece as much money out of me as they can - £10 per cheque I beleive.
Has anybody got any better ideas how to deal with such cheques.

Thanks,
Chris

I just opened a Barclays account, they charge £9 for up to 3 cheques. There was a whole thread on this subject a wee while ago.

Royal Bank of Scotland charges £2 or £3 a time, on my personal current account.

Do you folks have cheque cashing outlets? Here in Canada they charge on a percentage basis, and since recently, by law, they are limited to 3-4%

Yes, but they can charge pretty much whatever they want in commission... It's usually best ti go through your own bank account.
