Do you have any suggestions for site buidling software for affiliate? I am evaluating software that let me do the following:

- Create categories for affiliate merchants
- Each merchant has a page with merchant description and logo link to the affiliate merchant's web site
- On the page, there are a bunch of specials and deals links that will link users to the merchant's web page.

I was looking around for directory / listing management software, need some recommendations here. What do people use to build their affiliate site?

Thanks

I'm thinking such a site probably requires some database behind the scenes to make it work - that's how I envision it when I create my own coupon site :).

That kind of backend programming isn't even that hard, so if you can't find a ready-made program, contracting it out to someone shouldn't cost you more than an arm.

Hi rfung,

Were you using any ready made tool for building your coupon site? I assume any directory style, links management tool will do but not sure which one is good for building a site like that for coupon or merchant page with coupons links on the same page.

Thanks!

ayio:

I haven't built that site yet, but I know some scripting and as such I would develop my own solution. Using ready-made scripts for link exchanges are in my opinion dangeous because I heard (and this is just a rumor) that unless you heavily modify those scripts, they will be disregarded by the search engines. So even then you may need to do some coding. Are you script knowledgeable?

I am thinking about using php, maybe customize the tool to some extend. I don't want to spend too much time on this project. That's why I am looking to buy any ready made tool that allow me to do what I need and spend less programming effort.
