How long have you been in AM?

Just curious ...

I've been an AM for approximately 1610 days, 47 minutes and 17 seconds. But who's counting?

I've been in AM since mid-1998.

That is, if you count attempts to pay the server costs of a hobby site as being "in AM."

AM/advertising has been my sole source of income since 2001.

Just over one year.

Prior to November 2003 I never would have considered it - I thought it was a branding scam.

Since 1997, with Amazon originally. Full-time over the last 16 months, mostly with Art.com and AllPosters.com. Don't bother much with Amazon anymore.

I've been in AM since around 1996 way back in the early days. Anyone remember the "cookie cutter" days? Not that I was a part of it. :-)

When do one begin counting?

I've been studying the trade and building my sites for the past 3 months. But I haven't earned a single cent on commissions yet.

A doctor becomes a doctor upon taking his oath and receipt of his license. Does an AM become an AM after receiving his first commission check?

I have a friend that owns an affiliate site and is making well over $8k a month in affiliate commissions.
