I have moved this question from another forum .
New to web dev . At the suggestion of another member .

This may come as a strange request , but we have two unused sites that we only use the e-mail side of . We had a little discussion about them and was wondering if it was viable to turn them into affiliate sites , or what ever , we actualy do not have any product to market on them ourselves .
I stumbled across this forum by accident , so I thought that why not ask you people for some advise and see what happens , not even sure if this is the right forum to post this on .
Any advise and direction pointing would be appreciated .
Many thanks
RA

If you expect to just throw up some ads on your sites and have the cash just roll in, you will be disappointed. As they are essentially brand new sites, it will take many months of significant effort to start earning anything from them - if you are trying to make money from search engine traffic. Affiliate marketing is full time work like anything else (to get sites going at least). You can't expect to put in 5 hours a week being new to this and make anything. If you have a lot of extra time this is something you may want to pursue. Basically it boils down to how much you want to make it work.

Hi Conroy ,

Thanks for the reply .

I am certainly well aware of the fact that you get out what you put in , and I certainly do not beleive in any of those "make a million in five minutes " type of things , unless you use a very big gun , the only ones who make any money out of those , are the ones offering the incentive .
We have worked in the computer industry now for over fifteen years , but in a totaly different area . So we are green in this area , and are looking for advice and any help we can get .

Thank you for the input .

Best regards
RA
