We have a site that has grown rapidly the last months. We am currently looking for advertisers, both banners and text-ads, and added a page containing demographics, stats and reasonable prices. Our audience is very intelligent and talented and I have reason to believe that the site is very interesting for many advertisers.

I have been adsensing for a couple of months, but Im not pleased with the result, and other ad programs doesnt quite do it for me.

I've got a couple of advertisers by contacting them directly, so there is definetely an interest for the site.

So the question is: How do i "reach" interested advertisers directly? Forums, newsletters etc. Many advertisers dont visit the site themselves, they need a direct approach. Whats your best tip?

Have you considered adding aff links? If properly targetted, they may pay you more than just advertising.

If your getting 1,000 to 2,000 uniques or more a day, you should start out working with an AdNetwork. They sell the ads for a whole group of sites. If you're huge, you can even work directly with them. Do a search on Google for Ad Networks and you'll find a bunch.

keep getting your traffic and the advertisers 'will find you'. typically if you're 'that good' for your industry/whatever, it's the advertisers that will know of your existence and seek you out.

Thank you for your answers. Since our stats are more than 2-3k uniques per day I have also been looking out for adNetworks, but since our site is specially layouted in a way where "normal" banners wouldnt fit, it is not a great option in terms of keeping the design intact. Most ad networks dont have text ads, wich is mainly what I am focusing on at the moment.

I have found that a direct approach is very good, but I have a hard time finding partners that can live up to the intelligent audience of the site and their demands.

This is why I assumed that there was some kind of alternative way of "finding" them.
