We primarily use Fastclick, and they provide a serious income. We are trialling Adsense, once again, and once again it is proving disappointing. At the same time we are trying Adbrite, and this is currently far better than Adsense, though the adverts are not relevant to the content.

Not 100% true, while adbrites ‘network’ ad’s might be, they also offer an “advertise here” type of service and since this type of ad isn’t contextually based, it wouldn’t violate the adsense TOS.

There are many other adsense-like programs out on the web. However, almost nothing is as good as Adsense. Here is a good place to start looking:

You know, it's funny, I never thought Adsense could surpass my banner advertising in earnings, but after implementing some new changes (see other threads), I might ACTUALLY make enough decent change of Adsense to start worrying about getting kicked out by them! Go figure.
