I recently started a micro site. The sent has adsense from google. To drive traffic in, I used adwords.

Guess the result? On the first day, I paid adwords about $3 and get revenue from adsense at $7. I thought I strick GOLD!

But the following two days, I paid adwords around $3 again but my revenue drop to just around $1.

The hit and click thru is around the same for the 3 days.

anyone know why my pay out for the 2days is so low?

Many thanks.

Discussing how much you make is against adsesnse TOS.

With that aside, your adsesne will vary from day to day. I have heard of people who make money using adwords to drive adsense income but it's not an easy thing to do.

If AdWords is all that is brining traffic to your site, I think you'll have a hard time making money from AdSense.

If, on the other hand, you are getting natural traffic from search engines and other sites, you can do well.

I spend no money on traffic but I am earning more per day with AdSense than you are.... And I know there are many on these Forums who do much better.

I've done some adwords to drive traffic to my site - at one point I managed to earn 100% on the adwords cost through adsense clicks, but that hasn't proven to be consistent. I do sell stuff on the pages, so I figured that as long as the adsense+sales > adwords then I should be fine, but I've taken that down because I don't want the headache of keeping track of how much I'm spending. (my objective is to build these sites as self-running as possible).

Thank you all for the great feedback. Unless I have thing to sell, all of you are right that is better to have natural traffic.

thanks a lot :)

It can work. You need to watch this every week (it is too much grief to look daily). One week can make money then all of a sudden - you take a hit and have to make some decisions / change AW bid prices

This absolutely 100% can and does work. One new site I've built, to start getting targetted traffic flowing to it I've used Adwords. I have Adsense on all of my pages of this new site, and without being specific with numbers I make 2 times more with Adsense than what I spend on Adwords...consistently...every day. It depends on the type of site you have and the setup is very key. Obviously there is a critical point, meaning you will only be able to drive so much traffic to your site using Adwords and still make a profit with just Adsense. If you try to raise your Adwords bids, sure you'll get more traffic, but your profit will decrease.
