Hello,

I am a newbie and I have a problem.

My site which offers search engine optimization services and tips gets an average of 100+ unique hits and 300+ page views everyday. But the problem is, I have still not been able to do anything with it.

I tried changing the services cost to high, very high, low, very low, average - but nothing worked.

I got a few queries but none capitalized.

Then someone told me to try affiliate programs. I did and got some results through Google Adsense, though returns are just 80 cents a day.

Kind of traffic - Webmasters looking for information, services and tips on search engine optimization & submission. Webmasters and students looking for information on HTML tags, and META tags etc.

Origination - Mainly from the US, Canada and UK.

Hits - more than 100 per day.

Please advise me, I want to make best possible use of these free hits to my site.

I need your help.

Don't knock it.

In January 2003, when I started, I made $5.60 in the whole month. By August 2003, I was making three figures in a month and a few months later again four figures.

I just looked at my stats last night and realised that I'm going to make more this month than I made in 12 months last year.

80 cents a day ($24.00 a month) is an excellent start.
Now you need to examine your logs: see which pages are most popular among your visitors, see which pages your visitors are more likely to click on.

Add more pages relevant to the themes that your visitors are most interested in. Look for alternative revenue sources (PPA, CPC and CPM), experiment with short pages, long pages, positioning of advertising creatives.

Keep finding ways to promote your website. Set visitor and earnings targets each month and find creative ways to achieve them.

There are basically three ways to increase your earnings:

1) Increase your revenue from creatives.
2) Get more visitors to your site.
3) Get a higher percentage of visitors to come back to your site.

You need to be working on all three.

Have you considered offering an online SEO service rather than trying to monetise the traffic through ads? Surely the content is worth seeing or you wouldn't get the traffic, so maybe have an "insider tips" section that the user has to pay for. Many SEO sites have a "Free Site Review" section where they pull prospective new clients in - u tell the user that their site needs x,y and z to rank better, then offer a quote to do the work for them.

Failing that, use your SEO skills to get some rankings for bigger money terms, then run Adsense/aff links on these pages.

Could you contact some of the top paying SEO firms and sell them either traffic or leads directly? It could be worth at least contacting the top 5 firms bidding in Overture for relevant traffic and trying to set up a deal.
