eBay referal on adwords

I saw a lot of ebay Ads on google adwords. But I checked the ebay site. The ebay payment is only 0.10 to 0.25. So The convertion have to be at least 20% to make even. Is my understanding correct? If yes, then I have to say it is pretty hard. Correct me if I am wrong at some point.

People are betting on the odd person who hasn't registered with ebay yet, and those yield $10.00 per registration. I think anyone clicking on those ebay links probably haven't been there yet (as an ebay member, ebay is one of the first places I go to check prices).

I have some ebay listings in one of my sites, mostly I get $0.50 a day (i.e. 5 bids) over a month, I may get $50-$100 in new registrations though.

Of course, I have my own site so that's 'free' traffic. I don't know what the actual profit on a 'straight to merchant' ppc campaign would be.

Yep, it's hard, but possible. You need to find the type of items that your average 'joe' is going to be looking for. Maybe the guy who is a bit into electronics but does not use ebay, or doesn't check it first. Also, the links need to be super targeted, you can't just be like "buy the new Widget v7105i" and then link them to an ebay search page for "widget v7105i". You have to link it to a search for "Widget v7105i" with auctions only, items starting at $25.00, and lowest first.

This doesn't work for everything, but for those items that are $100-200, people will see live auctions at 25, 50, 75, with tons of bids. Your first page will be all action, instead of being riddled with crap like ACCESORY PACKAGES FOR the widget v7105i. That way, the user sees all the bidding and the action, low prices, and they want a piece of it.

In low numbers, PPC ebay affing isn't great, but tons and tons of traffic at $0.10 or < can bring some yields.
