I was wondering if anyone has ever joined an affiliate network as an advertiser to promote an affiliate site.

I have emailed an affiliate network with the question above and am waiting for answer. I don't know if they accept affiliate sites or not.

My idea is to offer 10 cents for every click. I would only have to convert 1 out of every hundred clicks to double my money. It seems to me to be a winning proposition, but I don't know if it can be done.

If anyone has ever done this please tell of your success or failure. Or whether you think this is a good or bad idea.

Thanks:
Michael

Funny, I had the very same thought this afternoon. I don't know the answer but you need to take into consideration network fees and the like. The other way is to use your own aff software and find affiliates for yourself.

The program I am looking into has a $350.00 deposit fee. Small network fee. I think 20-30% which would make 10 cents a click, approx. 13 cents a click. That would still leave plenty of room for me to make money.

My present conversion is about 10% of click throughs. I think 1% - 2% conversion would make lots of money if affiliates can be found.

I also like a network because they can more easily detect click fraud and find affiliates for the program faster and easier than I could.

Advertisers exist that happen to be Affiliates for other Advertisers. Look at some of the free ipod, free dvds, free widget sites and you will see that these are affiliates that also have their own advertiser program. Affiliate marketing is just another form of multi level marketing so as strange as it may seem to set up an Advertiser program to promote your own Affiliate site, it's not that unreasonable.
