In-house media buyer?

Should our company hire an in-house media buyer?

Hi,

First time post for me. Loves this site btw. I work for a growing e-com web company. As we grow, managing the purchasing and bidding of keywords is becoming a full time job. We are considering hiring a full time "Media Buyer" to fill this position. Here are the questions we are facing:

1. What is the salary range for such a position? We are located in the midwest (Ohio to be more specific).

2. Can we expect to find a decent media buyer in these new mediums? We have learned a lot by attending Search Engine Strategies and will be attending Webmaster World in Vegas. Should we hire a traditional media buyer and train them or try to find someone expereinced specifically in PPCSE.

That's all I have for now, though I'm bound to have more questions as we go.

Thanks.

I would recommend a experienced(at least one year) search marketing person instead of traditional media buyer. PPC is totally different from banners. Ask around at Vegas if anyone is interested. ;-)
