iritic sales or being conned?

Long story short, inherited an a single page entertainment site, after free hosting ran out. Site looks tacky, but receives about 1500-2000 uniques a day, 90% US.

Signed up to an affiliate programme. Entertainment shop, average item is about about $10(we get 20% of sales), send about 4000 visitors a month to the shop.
1st month site earned about $200+
2nd month $100+
3rd month $0
Had no sales this month(4th). Then the same day i log in to check stats, we get a sale, and have had sales for the next 4 days. Does this seem odd, or are iritic sales like this the norm?

Its hard to say whats teh correct level of sales, you are right to be wary though.

Is it easy enough to switch to an independant like Cj justtoconfirm you arent being stitched up?

My sales are pretty level at around x number per month.

Sales will be erratic due to the following problems:
1.Server Down when you sent traffic.
2.Transaction Messup.
3.Reporting Tools down or parsing not happening.
4.Thank you page closed even before it got loaded(however this would show reduced sales rather than no sales.)

Usually no sales means the tracking got haywire.Server upgrade something or the other issue which is technical.
