My site deals with a subject that AdSense regards as "adult content." And, no, it's not porn or anything approaching content like that.

Anyway, I've done a search for "alternatives to AdSense" here on WebmasterWorld and found a few threads. Nothing, though, provided an answer that was even close to being conclusive.

Is there another program similar to AdSense that is above board? Does anyone here have any experience with such programs?

Thanks much for any replies.

Don't know about alternatives to adsense, but why not put up affiliate links to products that your visitors would be interested in buying. If you know your target audience, then finding the right affiliate program shouldn't be that hard. I find that targeted affiliate programs usually make more than adsense anyway.

Thanks for the reply, eljefe3. The site I've been constructing is an enhanced directory site, where stores can brag all they want about how many items they carry, and the brands they carry.

Very early on, I gave thought to the idea to having banner ads on each state's page. Very quickly, though, I realized that having banner ads for the big "mega mart" stores on those state pages might turn off the mom-and-pop stores, whom I'm trying to get to pay $10 a month after their trial subscription period ends.

That was one of the main reasons why I created a "legislative news" section on the site, with a table box sized especially for the AdSense skyscraper ads. Every new article in the legislative news section mentions prominent and currently highly searchable names.

With AdSense shutting me down, I'm just looking for another good, similar affiliate program to fill the gap. I don't expect to make big bucks off these pages, but any dollar to me counts.

I've looked at Clicksa, but to my way of thinking, it looks like a scam to the people who don't know what's happening on the page.

So, I really welcome any additional suggestions from other forum participants who've found a home away from AdSense.

Thanks again.
