rewarding people for signing up at ebay

is it allowed? where are the limits?

is it OK to reward people for signing up at ebay?
- sign up at ebay and earn $5 (or a coupon etc.)

OR:
- list your items at ebay and get $30 once you had at least 10 different bidders

I couldn't find anything in the ebay affiliate TOS

how would you track this?

you can't "see" a specific visitor completing the registration -- AND they need to post a bid after registering

i'm not sure how it's done, but it sure seems like it can be done.

the free ipod thing asks you to sign up for ebay (or some other offers), then get friends to do the same- if you get enough, you get an ipod

I think on a big scale it might be possible to 'track' users or at least to make a pretty good guess that they joined... still I am curious what ebay might think about that? (giving people $/incentives to join)
