It's true! product links have been abandoned and are no longer functional

If your one of those people that has lots of individual product links on your website you can cry here before you start another six months of late nites adjusting your site

Oh, by the way, If you run a search on merchant links (try a search term like 'free') you will find that you are now being advertised at!

Kinda sad to see them go. I was hoping the affiliate game would make a comeback.

Taken from CJ's affiliate account manager:

"Product Category Tab Discontinued
The "Product Links" tab, which provided product category and search functions has been incorporated into the "General Offers" tab. Product Links are now a "special offer" type when using the advanced search functionality of "General Offers". As merchants begin to create these new offer types they will become available to affiliates. Commission Junction will continue to track existing product links for affiliates. Note: affiliates can also create their own product links by redirecting the destination of general links to specific products within the merchantís Web site. For more information, click on the CJU tab and go to How to Use CJ>>New Features."

It seems they are just changing the backend of product links. Old product links still work, and merchants can add new ones in the "special offers" section. You can also make your own links by changing the landing URL in your affiliate link. This is described on CJ's site as listed above.

There back (soon)

Possibly due to the overwhelming avalanche of complaints Matt of Team CJ made this very short post today at the CJ forum

"Yes, the product tab will be coming back soon. More details to come."
