I was reading about this recent sales record of 1 Million in a day by a "Guru" ...It made me thinking ...

I was never into this clickbank type info products and I really really hate those lengthy sales letters :)...But it seems there are people out there who buy this things!.

Is there anyone selling info products here and marketing solely thro SE's (PPC or organic) instead of selling thro email lists .

Also is there a viable market (like 1k/day) for those products outside the usual "Making money on internet/home based business/traffic generation/auto responder/webmaster" niche? ...For example can i just make a "Diabetes Surrival Guide" and sell it thro SE Marketing?...I see few people here selling PPC guides but not sure about the success?

OK enough of my questions :) ...Response from the know-how's is very much appreciated!

Yeah people are making money with info products alright. Just not me! :(

I'm not promoting them either. But I wanted to write and promote them like 6 years ago when I was young and passionate about a certain subject. I had no idea then that it would be something that made a lot of money online. I just wanted to share my info and was passionate about it. So I'm upset at myself for not. I'm not that passionate anymore about this subject at all (and it's a profitable one).

I know what you mean about the Non-Business related info products. Info products for consumers. It might not be as profitable as business stuff because people are not going to pay as much for something they just have a personal interest in as opposed to something that is an investment they are hoping will return them greater amounts of $ then they spend on the product. That's the only reason those marketing *gurus* can charge outrageous amounts of money for there products. Because they make people think that they will make 10-20x that back from what they learn in it right away.

Although the consumer personal market will have more people and more volume of sales at lower prices.

I know of some people who sale Dating advice E-books and make over a thousand and day and some a lot more then that.

Then there is this other guy who claims to be making $10,000 a day online selling his various Fitness info products. Although they are not digital, he ships physical copies of them, but all his marketing and sales are from online. I only know that figure because he claims that to sell some how-to-market-info-products seminar. Although the 10K is all from his non-marketing Fitness Info stuff.

Although I don't know any of them that don't also utilize email and mailing to there lists. I think that is a good idea and critical for selling yourself as the product as in info stuff. Becuase it is the author that people want to get to know and trust them. The more you let them get to know you personally on a friendly down to earth level the more likely they will buy from you then from all those proffesional sounding selling tactics. Some of them mail to their lists every day. Giving samples of your writing style and some tips in the emails help to give them a taste for what more you have to offer in the products.

Of course these people still use the best SEO skills to get to the top of the SERPs

I know ...But is there a market for non internet/MLM B2B? ...For ex how will a guide about "investing on tax lien certificates" will sell? ...

Its a turn off for me :) ...I never want to project myself or followup on email!

Anyway thanks for the response affgirl!

I know what you mean. Most of those people don't actually reply to any emails. Just send one way communication. An alternative is a blog. If you are not into giving out personal info and all it could just be used to post occasional updates. I think it helps there sales but it depends on the type of market. Tax info products are obviously not as personal as dating or fitness. So the author doesn't really matter as much. It's non-personal.

I think there are markets for a lot of topics. Just takes researching the internet to find out what people are searching for and if there are similar products. Wordtracker is a good place to start the research.

If there is anyone here making that kind of money from info products I'd love to hear it.
