Hi, I am about to send out a money request thing from PayPal.

I was wondering if it's possible for my advertiser to send money w/o them creating an account.

Thanks!

To my understanding, you would need to be a merchant and have the Paypal acccount optional feature turned on for the person you are requesting money from to be able to pay you without having to sign up for their own paypal account. I had to look this up a while back.

I am a merchant... where do I turn on this feature?

Thanks again!

Log in and under the profile tab you will see a link for "Website Payment Preferences" under the selling preferences column on the right - click that and you'll see that feature listed near the bottom of the page. Mine was enabled by default, but doesn't hurt to check. ;)

Mine says "Contact Telephone Number"...

Hmm... my account is a 'Business Account'. Am I mistaken my account for a merchant account?

You're supposed to be able to do it with premier and business accounts as well (supposedly both go under the "merchant" umbrella). I only have a premier and was able to access it. There are several "features" listed on that page. It is the listing right above the contact telephone number one. Weird.

Could you tell me exactly what 'feature' that is called?

"Account Optional Feature" :)
