The holiday shopping season for consumer goods

What percentage of your affiliate sales come at the end of the year?

If you had a big coupon site or something that focuses on all kinds of consumer products, what % of sales come during the end of year holiday season?

Is it anything like bricks and mortar where a good holiday season can make or break the entire year?

Don't know the percentage compared to the rest of the year but last 2 years saw a 50% jump in December over the previous month. But i wouldn't say the holiday season makes or breaks a year, it's just a very nice time of the year:)

I don't have a general coupon site, but I do have several very well ranked pages in the toy industry. They make more in Oct, Nov and the first two weeks of Dec than they do during the rest of the year combined. But, again, we're talking toys - something highly linked to the holidays. I usually see an increase in all sales across most of my sites during the months before the holidays - but not an insane one like with the toys. ;)

I get a good 50% more traffic during Nov/Dec. Makes for a nice Christmas for me ;)

A bit off topic, but...

My wife and I were sitting on the couch tonight talking about money and how it would be alright if revenue was down lately because... "you know why?" she asked.... "because 4th quarter is right around the corner." I replied....

oops.

Correct answer: because we have each other.
