Best way to promote an affiliate

copy, positioning, etc.

I currently run a site whose main income is via AdSense. I am making some pages now to sell the products that some of this site is about. They are pretty name brand, but I still include a picture on the individual product pages. I have some questions though:

Since my primary income is from AdSense and I don't bank on making a fortune off of affiliate marketing, should I send them into a new window (target="new") or what not? Is that allowed with affiliates and AdSense? And also, should I definitely give them the price before they click or let them discover how much it is once they arrive? I would say most people have a general sense of how much the product is before they arrive.

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

You can set the affiliate links to open to a new window if you prefer. Pricing is going to be an opinion based answer. As a shopper, I want to see a price. If it isn't there, I am going to assume it's too high, but that may just be me ;-).

I'm pretty sure adsense forbids sites being made strictly to promote adsense. I'd revamp the pages to include prices, descriptions, and photos of products on your pages so your visitors have the option of actually purchasing from your affiliate links, or clicking on your competitors' adsense links.

I try to always put the price on the page. After all people are shopping when they arrive at my site. I personally don't buy something without seeing the price upfront.
