Hi guys,
I'm just curious how much money do those sites make? Sites like : hotscripts.com, sitepoint.com, devshed.com. I'm sure they make money from advertising banners as I see and of course with mailing lists.

So how much $ approximately they make a month? Do You have any ideas?

I only know a large ammount.

On a completely unrelated point: The fact that devshed uses Mambo CMS to run its site is just stunning endorsement of the little CMS that could.

I mean, those site are sort of portals, right? So how much approximately $$ can such site make. Maybe anyone has a clue?

Is it possible to make, well $500,000.00 a month or I went too far here?
See I have no idea, but I'm really curious. Is it worth creating a huge site or not?

Isn't creating a huge site the easy bit - its all about serps and traffic.

Longen is dead on. Look at it this way there are places out there that are listed on the stock exchanges. So yes huge sites can make huge money but only with very large traffic.

I doubt hotscripts alone makes $500k/month. I don't see how that is possible with what they offer. My guess would probably be around the lines of $50k/month. But who knows, they're not on NASDAQ yet.
