I'm considering translating some of my sites to russian as there is a pool of users that I believe would love my services etc, I'm just wondering if anyone knows of ways to generate revenue from traffic from these countries?

Maybe PTC/PTR traffic. That's all I can think of :)

Eastern Eurasia is one of our target markets. Our project will be in place later this year, but we get much traffic to or from these regions already. Among other resources our ties with the U.S. Olympic Training Center are allowing us to pave in-roads through Gymnastics and Culture. This is our "Big Fat Brain Storm!" approach...it comes from an ancient XIan teaching which I shall overly translate for you: Koalas in Manhattan still need the same venue, food, etc. and most of this will still come from down under - Get It!
Give Uk/Rus what they want no matter where they are at...it will pave the same roads for the same users.
