Short Term Ad Banner Companies

I am putting together a number of sites at the moment and one of the challenges is to find advertising companies that don't require massive page views before acceptance. I decided to give iClicks a try, through mycomputer.com, and lo and behold, not more than 5 days after I joined the program was cancelled altogether. They say the reason is falling advertising revenue (duh) but actually I am wondering if it is something I said...

So the question is, are there any other companies out there that will serve ads to small or starting sites until they (the sites) start to generate enough page views to talk to the big boys?

Any Ideas??

Most of the CPM networks are not even accepting mid-size or large clients, Woz. But the affiliate networks such as CJ, Linkshare, Befree, ClickXchange all have a selection of banners and buttons that they'll serve. Most are CPA, some are CPC.

You may want to look into a banner rotation setup from CJ or Directleads. You select the banners/ads you want (target them to your site) and use 1 code across multiple pages.

I played around with CJ's SmartZone banner rotator, and it seems to work fine. It can take several days for a banner to be inserted into the rotation, but that is the only problem I am aware of. (when I first set mine up, it took over a week for it to start pulling banners, but seems fine now)

Directleads has a nice banner rotation setup which seems easier to manage than CJ's. I haven't used it, but friends have, and haven't heard any negatives.

Thanks guys, I figured that would be the case.

I have been keeping an eye on the affiliate market for some time but it is always good to have other opinions. I will set something up with them.

Great timing to be setting up sites huh?

I'm not doing too badly, even with the web falling down around me. I pick the affiliates that look reputable, seem to have some sort of realistic business model, and -most of all- relate to my sites. Buttons and text links in the body work better than 468 banners across the top, but if you have the slot, why not?

You didn't say if you've installed an ad rotator. If not, plan to do so soon, I don't think I'd want to be dependent upon the network's in-house rotator over the long run.
