Hello to you all.

I could use your advice. I am a European marketeer and did extensive research on US markets and created a strategy for selling a book.

For your information: it is a marketing-checklist-manager with over 550 marketing-checklists and 800 pages. It covers 20 marketing-main-subjects. This is no commercial message, but only a question for advice.

To sell the book I consider two things I have two strategies in mind:
I don't know to follow one-strategy, or do both together or both separate.
- having a strategy to give away the e-book (with salestracking) and then track sales
- having a strategy to do direct sales of the book (800 pages)

My strategy

- us website
- emailmarketing, we have different lists different prices: do tests with minimum of 10000 - non response tests - targeted on
marketing/sales/(small)business owners
- seo: 5000-10000 keywords optimized
- google adwords/overture
- pr: sending press releases to 60 countries & I have someone calling magazines for coorporations .. they can publish
the checklists in there media in exchange for promotion .. book reviews by 'famous' writers.
- affiliate systems
- e-newsletter advertising
- ffa
- hand submission to 5000 directories
- using a blog as an instrument: snip
- Guerilla: forums/chats.. using my signature (see below)
- Buying targeted traffic
- Reciprocal linkbuilding
- 468x60 targetted banner advertising

- .. and later offline media such as Direct Mail, Business TV and others

I would very much like you look at my strategy and give scomments on my strategy.
Maybe you have new idea's and instruments that could add.

Thanks from Switserland/Richard

I doubt that 1 book has so many keyphrases.

One thing I'd definetly suggest you to avoid if it is good book, that's based on facts, I'd avoid SPAM as much as possible.

I think I'd start with SEO, PPC and sending press releases. It's imho the fastest way to generate sales and also comparable cheap. But that's just my $.02

Don't bother with FFA or buying "targetted" traffic.

Hi Richard,

-> SEO: 5000 - 10000 keywords optimized.
is that in ONE page? If it is in one page.. search engines will consider it as SPAM!

-> FFA => forget this!

-> Buying targeted traffic => Many people disappointed with this! BE careful with any service that "guarantee" targeted traffic!

-> Press release => GOOD!

-> Ezine Advertising => GOOD

By the way, I wonder why you didn't form a Joint Venture?

If I have a new product, I would go directly to a directory of ezines and contact the publishers or editor to form a JV to promote the product! The best way to do this is by giving them a free copy to review your product. Should they think your product is suitable with their niche/list, they should be agree to announce your product to their list and you have free advertising! This is the best way to do!

-> Reciprocal linkbuilding => GOOD IF you are careful to choose partners/webmasters who have "relevant" site with yours!

-> Google Adwords => VERY GOOD if you are good in choosing the right keywords.

Hope that helps! :-)
