I have a few sites opertating now with quite a bit of traffic and i have a few freinds with sites. So were thinking about launching our own ad network. And I was wondering what software is the best out there, I did a quick search but it seems like every ones selling a solution of some kind. Any thing you know about starting or doing something like this would be appreciated.

phpAdsNew [phpadsnew.com] might be what you are looking for.

Looks intresting but after i read in to it a bit, it doesnt offer the scalebility for an actual ad server its meant for handaling under 50 sites. Is what the support forums led me to believe. But thank you.

If you are looking for free, phpAdsNew is it. Not much better in the 'free' category that I've found. If you find better, I'd love to hear about it.

There are tons of paid adservers that will do the job.

It doesnt matter if it costs, I just want to pay a one time fee, not per impression junk. And i want it to have the scalability of something like fastclick or burst. Any suggestions to gettin something like that?

scalability of something like fastclick or burst

Hmm... maybe a little more detail might help. What do you mean by 'scalability'. Those two networks serve well over 1 Billion ads a month. Every solution has a ceiling, what is yours? Do you simply want to be able to span several servers? Do you need to serve 1 Million ads a day? 10M?

Are you trying to be another network? If so you will need quite a different beast than what you will find out there. You will need accounting not only by campaign to advertiser, but individual site location on individual and aggregate. Publisher as well as advertiser logins, etc.

Your question is really quite broad.
