When you are putting advertising on your site, what kind do you like to use?

A) Banner, text, skyscraper, other?

B) Ugly, pretty, annoying, subdued, other?

There has been some talk here and there on WW about ugly sites and do they sell. How about advertising? I have heard that annoying banners get better results than pretty ones. Is this true?

I prefer text, but there may be something to be said for a pretty ad in the middle of an ugly site.

Text, forms, buy now buttons. It's difficult to incorporate a banner into a sales pitch :)

Actually, I don't like the banner which inserts into our webpage. I feel that the banner will affect our design. I would like to use pop under.

Banner for a related but different merchant and ugly texty sales pitch with buy now affiliate links for the target merchant allover!

The punter thinks that the banner is the "Advertisement" and the text link is the "unbiased" opinion from some geek who wants to help the world and promptly discards the banner and clicks the affiliate money link:)
