I am looking for an ad broker that does the same type of thing as CJ, but much cheaper. There is no way I can shell out thousands of dollars just to start.Any suggestions?

I want to pay the affiliates a pay-per-sale.

I've heard good things about myaffiliateprogram.com.

I've never used them but when I was researching 3rd parties many people who used them were happy with the service and the price.

I don't think that is what i need.
I provide a service, I will pay publishers $x.00 per sale if someone comes from their site and buys my product. I need a 3rd party to track and pay them.

Hmm I'm new to this, but I've heard a lot about linkshare and befree, I think they're some of CJs big competitors... but there is lots smaller ones... some with less then pristine reputations.

Try shareasale. They are much cheaper (and much smaller).

I would recommend ShareaSale over Clickx.

Ones to consider shareasale/Fineclicks
Clickxchange
Clixgalore

You can run via more than one network if it is economical to do so for you considering the setup fees or monthly minimums.

I have seen several CJ advertisers also start running their programs via clickxchange for added exposure. Gunbroker is one that comes to mind.
