Would any successful affiliates using programs like CJ(Assuming there are such people) help out with ad rotation strategies.

e.g.
Do you pick a particular product or company and stay with them?
Do you switch regularly?
Does it take a while before ads displayed generate clicks & dollars?
Do text ads work better than banner ads?

Do you pick a particular product or company and stay with them?

Try to focus on your audience. Put that you believe they might like.. and you have more chances of making $$$$$ (simple rule, put yourself in their situation and what you would like to see on your kinda site)

Do you switch regularly?

It does not hurt to switch or try other advertisers. Use what works best for you, and keep trying for new ones also. Cuz you never know how long the other company is going to last on CJ.

Does it take a while before ads displayed generate clicks & dollars?

If you were to put a empty glass in an open field, will the first rain drop fall in it? Go with the flow, and give it some time too.. but you have to make the final decision, how long to wait before switching.

Do text ads work better than banner ads?

I would say so.. but o-well I have seen wonderful banner ads do pretty darn good too. So I guess, you will hear few different opinion on this one.

Get PhpAdsNew

In PhpAdsNew setup your CJ account and manage different types of ads.

Use PhpAdsNew to show any type of ads.

See the revenue at CJ and stats at PhpAdsNew

See what worked for you and what didn't

NS

P.S.. you can tell that I am a big fan of PhpAdsNew ;)

Personally ...

text links ... I have tried banner ads, ad rotation software and the like. However nothing beats a well placed static text link.

My 2 cents ...

If you MUST have banners (perhaps your site is not geared towards direct linking in context), use a smart zone and use the priority settings.

The higher the priority, the more often the ad is shown.

Start all banners of at the same level, then after a few das or so open reports (50 best links for example) and choose jsut hteone site. That will give you summary info at the bottom.

Then take hte banners with the best earnings and increase their priority, and remove banners that made no clicks in a day, or no sale in 200 clicks.

And refine... feel free to add new banners as u come across them. Start them of inthe middle and move em up or down accordign to performance.

This way you have a decent trade off between "giving a banner a chance" and loosing money to a bad one.
